Teaching Philosophy

Each course I teach is a unique opportunity to teach the necessary skills to make sense of the current political environment and effectively participate in politics. In addition to teaching the core elements of my subject area, I encourage self-driven curiosity by including peer-reviewed research in course curricula. My research informs my teaching. Through discussion-based learning and team-based learning, my students will feel comfortable engaging in academically rigorous discussions about real-world politics.
