Dr. Stephanie R. Davis

Hi there. I’m an Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Administration in the School of Public Affairs at University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I joined UA Little Rock in Fall 2023. It has been a terrific opportunity to conduct my research and teach students in the Natural State!

Why political science?

Political science examines some of the most compelling collective action problems, played out on the public stage every day. Political science's theories are on display daily through television, the internet, and social media.

While various forms of media showcase the interaction between human behavior and political institutions, political scientists is to explain the output of this interaction to others. The research we conduct, the curriculum we create, the findings we publish, and the courses we teach serve a special purpose in democratic regimes. As researchers and educators, our role is to help the citizenry – those affected by politics make sense of politics one research question, one class, and one student at a time.
